Seeking a Team of Tenants - Revitalization of a Hotel and Restaurant in Erschmatt

The Erschmatt Impuls association, founded in 2026, aims to reopen the restaurant and hotel—which has been closed since April 2024—under new management. The first step, the purchase of the property, has been completed. The next step is to find an innovative and dedicated leaseholder for this business.

On April 22, 2017, the Roggen Schweiz Foundation opened the Roggenstube restaurant and the Roggen Backstube bakery. Starting in 2021, it was able to offer 24 guest beds in 12 double rooms in the hotel wing, located on the floor above the restaurant. The restaurant and hotel have been closed since April 2024 due to the operator’s bankruptcy.

To revitalize the existing infrastructure, a nonprofit association was founded in January 2026. It is committed to the sustainable development of the village of Erschmatt. The goal is to promote environmentally conscious and socially responsible tourism, as well as to preserve and revitalize the village of Erschmatt for both locals and visitors. With 120 members comprising villagers, second-home owners, and Erschmatt natives living elsewhere who are homesick for the village, the association enjoys broad support. Support through membership and active participation in the project are still needed.

Six months after its founding, the association reached its first milestone: the purchase of the property, including the hotel wing and basement, thanks to the generous support of its members through donations and loans. Three working groups are currently laying the groundwork for the reopening of the village gathering place and restaurant.

The next step—finding a suitable tenant team—is now underway. The job description and a business plan have been drafted. We are looking for a team of tenants who will seize this unique opportunity: with creativity, their own distinctive style, and a passion for interacting with guests and the village community. The conditions are attractive—thanks to a moderate rent and infrastructure that is as good as new and ready for immediate use.
