Mobility & energy

The Pfyn-Finges Nature Park campaigns for the use of public transport. Thus practically all attractions in the nature park can be reached by public transport and start at central points such as Leuk railway station.

We have maintained close cooperation with RegionAlps for several years. Please read this information at the appropriate stopping points.

In 2016 the regional nature park participated in purchasing an electric car from the regional energy suppliers ReLL.

Together with the regional energy producers and suppliers, the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park educates the population to energy issue. We are proud that our park communities bear the “Energy-town region” label.

Reusable instead of disposable

Reusable cup rental for event organizers

Thanks to the use of reusable utensils, mountains of waste at events are reduced, energy is saved and resources are conserved. Whether for aperitifs, parties or other events: Pfyn-Finges Nature Park and its partners offer the rental of reusable cups.

Sun instead of diesel in the Alps

Technically feasible, financially viable and operationally practical? Replacing climate-damaging, noisy and smelly diesel generators on remote (alpine) farms with renewable energy systems is certainly possible. However, the specific solution that can be implemented depends on various factors and local conditions. In order to offer interested farms an initial basis for consideration, the Pfyn-Finges Regional Nature Park, together with the regional energy supply company RELL, has been involved in a specific project on the Obern-Galm alp in Guttet-Feschel.

Reduce light pollution and save energy

With a new, intelligent design in community street lighting, electricity consumption and costs could be significantly reduced. A corresponding reduction in light pollution also has a positive effect on human well-being, nature and the landscape. The office of the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park has supported the nature park and energy municipality of Leukerbad with an analysis of its street lighting by a specialist office.
