The traditional clean-up day took place in the Pfynwald nature reserve on March 28. 70 dedicated helpers, including many families and local associations such as the LSH association from Salgesch, set about clearing nature of garbage.
Two skips of garbage collected in a very short time
The motivated participants met at Leuk train station in the morning in sunny weather. In groups, they cleaned the hiking and walking trails. "It's staggering that tires that remain in the environment for centuries are simply left behind in the forest," said one participant in the campaign. The waste was collected efficiently: two large skips were filled after just a short time. At the end, the helpers were treated to culinary delights. At the "Balmen" picnic area in Salgesch Castle, everyone was able to enjoy the offerings of Nature Park partner businesses "Relais Bayard", the "Cave de la Pinède" and "DIROSO" wineries and the Sonnenberge brewery.
Valuable support
This successful campaign would not have been possible without the support of the FMV, which is once again supporting the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park financially this year. The Nature Park would also like to thank the Susten gravel works of Theler AG for providing the skips free of charge and for the professional disposal of the collected material. A big thank you to everyone involved for their valuable contribution to the protection of our unique landscape.
