Due to their adaptation to the local ecological conditions, native shrubs offer many advantages over exotic species (see diagram).

In residential areas, English lawns or exotic ornamental shrubs such as thuja or cherry laurel are still often used for landscaping. Yet the native plant diversity in our region offers a wide range of alternatives! Over 80 species of native shrubs can enhance our gardens and be planted as natural hedges around properties.

It is a joint project of the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park, the Binntal Landscape Park and the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site.
