Enjoy the peace in the enchanted forest
A circular snow-shoe trail Oberems village –"Saniklois" shrines-Griebjistrasse-Ärdju-Raaftstrasse-Holz-village.
From the railway station in Turtmann, a walk leads over the old aerodrome and through the proud patrician houses to the cableway station. The tour continues with the cable car up to the village of Oberems with its 135 inhabitants, where we put on our snowshoes at the start of the trail outside the village.
With the snow-shoes we follow the signposted snow-shoe trail and we soon find ourselves in a thick forest. From the "Teifa Bodu" timber storage area we walk in the direction of Griebjini and then back again to Oberems. Along the way we pass the shrine of Saniklois (St Nicolas) and can enjoy the view to the other side of the valley with its imposing mountain chain. Finally we have deserved a nice cup of tea from the Oberems herb witch in the restaurant.
A little tour around the idyllic old village centre is worthwhile in any case, either before or after the walk.
In case of wind: Cableway does not operate. Bus replacement with a changed timetable.
Overhauling day every 2nd Thursday in the month (limited operation)
Points of interest: Bear paws of the last bears at the Community Centre and the old chapel.

The Berginsel is an agritourism family business. In 2014, we lovingly renovated the old watch house of the hydroelectric power station, using a great deal of passion and commitment to detail.
Our breakfast is native, through and through.
Oberems has also done something for families with children and made a picnic and children's playground on 2001 at Fenster 7, just above the village.
