A large-scale research project on ecological infrastructure in parks of national importance, funded by the Federal Office for the Environment, was launched in October. Three dozen researchers from five different Swiss universities are investigating the value of the network of natural and semi-natural habitats for nature and people. The Pfyn-Finges Nature Park was selected as one of four case study areas. The park is supporting the project with information on flora and fauna and its network of local knowledge carriers. In turn, it benefits from the specific research in the park and the recommendations linked to it.
