Leuk and Leukerbad - cooperation becomes visible

With the completion of the joint design of the traffic circle at the Rottenbrücke bridge in Susten, those responsible at Destination Leukerbad and Leuk Tourism were able to present the first visible sign of closer cooperation on Thursday, December 3, 2020.

The new traffic circle is all about tourism. The aim is to showcase the diversity of the entire region by uniting mountain and valley and the wide range of leisure activities such as hiking, skiing, biking and thermal bathing.

The working groups that have been set up - moderated by the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park office - will continue to develop further interfaces at an operational and strategic level in the coming year. The first pragmatic projects have already been implemented this year. For example, a joint guest reception was coordinated at the train station in Susten, where guests were not only welcomed with first-hand information and leisure tips while they waited, but were also able to toast their vacation in the region with a glass of local wine. Unfortunately, the planned joint appearances at tourism fairs could not be realized, as the corresponding events were cancelled due to the Corona measures.

As part of the implementation of the Leukerbad master plan, the destination of Leukerbad will have a completely new brand identity as of 11.12.2020. The associated renewal of the communication channels will gradually improve the mutual visibility of the regional service offerings, whether on digital channels or at the tourist offices. The foundation stone for long-term cooperation between the two destinations has certainly been laid with the new traffic circle.
