Planting of high stemmed fruit trees
The Pfyn-Finges Nature Park has initiated numerous plantings of high stemmed fruit trees.
Since 2013, the cultural landscape has been ecologically enhanced through the planting of over 400 standard fruit trees and structural diversity and biodiversity have been supported. New trees are planted every year.
In collaboration with the Vogelwarte Sempach, the planting fruit trees is supported in the vineyard landscape. Standard fruit trees have enormous ecological value. They provide a habitat and source of food for many small animals, insects and birds for years. The more flowers the tree produces and the older it is - and they can be up to 200 years old - the more valuable. In order to preserve this cultural heritage in the landscape and at the same time promote biodiversity and connectivity of habitats, the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park has already planted a large number of standard fruit trees in park communities. To this day, planting continues to be promoted in various projects. Maintenance is the responsibility of the property owner.
