" Ecological grazing"

Organization, coordination and support of grazing the rocky steppe in the 'Blatte' area near Leuk

The Pfyn-Finges Nature Park manages the extensive grazing of the rocky steppe near Leuk with various animal species, coupled with manual shrub removal.

For over 10 years, the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park has been responsible for the extensive grazing of the valuable inner-alpine rocky steppes around the Feschel Gorge. From a faunistic and floristic point of view, this area, partly protected dry meadows and pastures (TWW), is unique. When coordinating, monitoring and supporting the grazing project, the main aim is always to preserve and enhance the unique, valuable natural and cultural landscape. The Pfyn-Finges Nature Park works closely with local farmers and partners such as the Swiss Ornithological Institute in Sempach.
