2017 – 2022Unused areas in industrial zones have great potential for promoting biodiversity. In the Leuk industrial zone, a Valais dry meadow was created with native shrubs, supplemented with various stone lentils.
A survey and analysis of the areas maintained by the communities within the nature park in urban areas will be carried out in order to identify any ecological enhancement potential and to promote biodiversity in urban areas in a targeted manner.
Biodiversity in settlement areas can be promoted with small measures in some cases. In order to know the current status of the maintained areas in the nature park communities, these are recorded and analyzed. This analysis serves as a basis for ronnovating or redesigning individual areas together with these communities and for adapting their maintenance practices. Biodiversity and nature-oriented maintenance are promoted and strengthened.
The nature park supports our communities in the rennovation and redesign of nature oriented spaces in urban areas. The nature park also provides advice on how to professionally maintain these nature oriented areas so that they can develop to their full potential.

The redesign of the area at the train station track was completed in collaboration with the community of Leuk. The result is an area full of biodiversity and an oasis of well-being for those waiting.
The nature-oriented redesign of the village square in Agarn was implemented in stages. The main project involved designing a green space that invites people to linger and explore.
The green areas around the nature and landscape center are laid out in a natural way. The flower meadow, the native shrubs and the various structural elements are professionally maintained by the employees of the nature park office.
Official parking spaces were created with grass pavers to stop cars parking wildly on the measow. In addition, the parking areas were demarcated by an avenue of trees with native shrubs and boulders.
Ecological improvment of the parking areas in the "Alti Sagu" area of Salgesch. The areas were paved with grass pavers and the surrounding area was redesigned with native shrubs, individual trees and a native dry meadow.
In collaboration with the city of Sierre, this hedge was extended along the walking path, shrub islands were planted in the adjacent green area and open areas were sown with a native dry meadow mixture.
The old wooden fence along the "Monderèche" was replaced by a wood fence made from local Larch, to optimize route guidance and to protect passers-by.
