The cultural landscape in Erschmatt with rocky steppes, pastures, meadows, fields and gardens is the result of the interaction between nature and man. We will explore the changes in the rhythm of the seasons and over the course of the past decades.

The cultural landscape in and around Erschmatt is very diverse and has changed considerably over the last few decades due to climatic, social and economic changes. What has remained the same are the seasonal changes. On our circular hike, we explore the area in the Leuker Sonnenberge in its autumn garb and at the same time take a look at the past and present of the rocky steppes to the south of the village, the pastures and meadows as well as the fields and gardens. An experience for all the senses!
At the final aperitif under the Hoher Spycher, we test whether climate change in Erschmatt's sunny terraces means that grapes can still ripen well...
