At Leuk railway station, a near-natural place has been designed with interactive elements. Waiting passengers can relax in the newly designed area and learn more about the Nature Park Municipality of Leuk.

A near-natural location has evolved at Leuk railway station. The unused residual area next to platform 2 had already been sown as an indigenous meadow in 2017. Now the area has been upgraded with further elements. Almond trees have been planted, raised beds with seating facilities have been planted with indigenous herbs and every village in the municipality of Leuk (Erschmatt, Susten and Leuk Town) has a post with a picture viewer where photos of the unique features of the region are shown. Another element that has been highlighted is the “Schreeundbach (screaming stream)”, which can be experienced with the senses in this project. If you have to wait for a long time at the railway station, you can make yourself comfortable on the larch wood sunbeds. A fountain in the middle of the layout offers drinking water for the waiting passengers and serves as a source of water for birds and insects.
