Cleaning day - 90 volunteers lend a hand

On April 13, the traditional clean-up day took place for the 12th time in the Pfynwald nature reserve. Over 90 dedicated helpers supported the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park in clearing this unique landscape of garbage.

What began over 15 years ago with around 20 helpers has now become a well-established tradition. "We are delighted that so many people are committed to their protected area every year. Some helpers have been involved since the beginning," says Emilie Beberat, who is responsible for organizing the clean-up day on behalf of the nature park.

2 skips of waste collected in a very short time

In summery weather, the motivated participants - including many families and clubs - met at Leuk train station in the morning. In groups, they cleaned the hiking and walking trails. "We were very surprised at what some people leave lying around in the forest - especially by the roadside. We even found computers, which can be disposed of free of charge," said one helper indignantly. At the end, the helpers were treated to culinary delights. At the "Balmern" picnic area in Salgesch Castle, everyone was able to enjoy the offerings of Nature Park partner businesses "Relais Bayard" Susten and "Diroso Weine" Turtmann.

Valuable support

With FMV, the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park has a strong partner at its side. Every year, the energy producer invests in this event and other collaborations. Thanks are also due to Theler AG, which provides the skips free of charge and disposes of the collected waste professionally. With the cleaning day and the supervisory work, the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park helps to ensure that the Pfynwald nature reserve remains what it always was and is - a beautiful local recreation area.
