Sustainable commuting week

member companies of the Valais excellence business association took part in the sustainable commuting week. By giving up their car on the way to work, 83 employees saved a total of 6513 kilometers of driving. In addition to the positive impact on the environment, this campaign also encouraged discussion within the company and the implementation of concrete measures. Naturally, the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park team took part in the campaign.

The first week of sustainable commuting, which took place from March 21 to 25, was crowned with success. As part of this campaign, employees were asked to leave their car at home for at least one day during the week. It served as an impetus for discussions within the company and to raise awareness among employees. Instead of driving, around 83 participants chose to cycle, walk, use public transport or car sharing to get to work, saving a total of 6513 kilometers of driving. "We hope that those who took part in this experiment will change their habits. They can set a good example and serve as an inspiration to their colleagues," explains Véronique Besson-Rouvinez, President of VUVEX.

This Sustainable Commuting Week enabled companies to address the issue of sustainability internally and consider concrete measures such as mobility plans, employee surveys or financial support for soft mobility. VUVEX hopes that this momentum will continue and plans to run this campaign again next year.
