Nesting aids school project creates 90 "new homes"

Doing something for an attractive landscape starts on your doorstep. 90 schoolchildren from the Leuk/Susten schools are taking part in the campaign. Since Christmas, they have been drawing, sawing and screwing together their nesting boxes in craft lessons. After the sports vacations, they were then assembled at suitable locations under the guidance of the nature park's environmental education team.

The children will experience a bird excursion around the school building with a guide and learn more about the birds' needs and behavior. Even though the municipality of Leuk is already one of the most species-rich bird squares in Switzerland, this school project creates even better conditions to ensure that this remains the case in the future. What is certain is that the children will gain further concrete environmental experience in their community.
