Every year, thousands of fawns die in Switzerland during the hay harvest. This is due to their natural protective behavior: remaining still and pressing down on the ground. This is how they get caught in the mowers of agricultural machinery. Fawn rescue using drones offers effective help here. Using thermal imaging cameras, the young fawns are quickly identified and can be brought to safety by dedicated helpers.
Starting this year, Diana Leuk, with the support of the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park, is also launching fawn rescue from the air.
We are looking for affected farmers and supportive helping hands! If you are interested, please contact Andreas Borter from Diana Leuk (andreas.borter1@gmail.com, 079 516 08 74) or the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park, where other voluntary work for nature is also possible (a.theler@pfyn-finges.ch).
