This excursion takes us into the water meadows where we will listen to the songs of the birds heralding the spring. They are mainly species that spend the winter with us or are with us for the whole year.
In the rocky steppe and fields around the Brentjong station with its large satellite antennas, the first homecomers from Africa, such as the hoopoe, the bunting fence, the redstart, etc., sing at this time of year.
We roam through the floodplain forest along the Rhone and listen to the birds singing in the morning and try to get some in front of the lenses of our binoculars and telescopes.
The nightingale is a very shy reddish-brown coloured bird species that can only be observed with a little luck and a good deal of patience.
