Nature and Landscape Centre

Welcome to the Salgesch Nature and Landscape Centre

The nature park has found a home for its headquarters in the renovated, 300-year-old Commandery of St. John. The Nature and Landscape Centre in the centre of Salgesch has been the point of contact for visitors, as well as the park's administrative centre since July 2007. The modernized building, which was built in accordance with the specifications of the MINERGIE® standard, houses the visitor reception area, the park's offices and the nature park shop. Additionally, a converted barn provides the space for the nature park exhibition, a multipurpose area and a library. Finally, there is an office for the hike leaders in the keeper's house to the east.

Reception desk and shop
Since the opening of the new Nature and Landscape Centre, the heart of the park's administrative operations has become more immediately accessible to visitors. You can find out everything you need to know about the park here. At the reception desk, you can get answers to all of your questions, while in the shop, you can stock up to your heart's content on local products, souvenirs and great gift ideas.

Exhibition

The exhibition is closed! Discover the new exhibition in 2012!
At the exhibition, visitors can learn about various aspects of the nature park and its surrounding area in a fun way. The exhibitions are designed to appeal not only to adults but also to school groups and families.

Library
In the library, visitors will find interesting and informative material about Pfyn-Finges Forest. Countless researchers and artists have already explored the region and are still doing so today. The library is intended to bring all of this material together in one place. The material housed here includes university theses, research reports, plans for the area and literary works. It really is astonishing to see how much has already been written about this region!
