| The wild Rhone |
|
Over the Rhone's course of 7 km and an area of 350 hectares, extend the river's arms, islands and riverside forests along with dry scrubland. This is the only section of the Rhone that could not be canalized due to the constant deposition of material from the Illgraben!
The natural landscape is a paradise for rare animals such as the beaver, the little ringed plover and the sandpiper. Floods regularly wash the seeds of Alpine plants here, contributing to the blaze of colour of the vegetation here. |
