GrasfroschPfynwald

By the first days of March, these creatures are already making their way in droves to their spawning grounds. They have headed for the same locations for centuries, and are always taking the same route. This lack of flexibility explains the large number of animals that fall victim to modern-day road traffic. Luckily, this is not a danger in our region! Here, there is nothing to stand in the way of the frogs in migration. The widely-scattered ponds, the ideal hunting grounds and the fact that it is a great distance from any main roads all create very favourable conditions for these species to flourish. This in an ideal biotope for the common frog and the toad.
