| Why has this region been singled out to be a nature park? |
| Our region has been somewhat eclipsed in the last few decades by Sierre and Visp and the large tourist destinations. This has affected the preservation of our traditions, our wonderful, unspoiled natural and cultural landscapes, the region's unique biodiversity and idyllic old village centers. Positioning the region as a nature park gives us not only the opportunity of exploiting the strengths of our region in economic terms, but also of raising the profile of the region as such. We are all very proud of our natural and cultural heritage. With the nature park, we can pursue a clear strategy and foster this sense of pride while communicating it to others. |
